VIPER-FLEX® SHOOTING STICK
Shooting sticks are one of the most effective tools a rifle hunter can use in the field. They reduce the effects of adrenaline, fatigue and body movement at the moment of the shot — giving you stability when it matters most. Whether you are hunting driven game in Scandinavia, stalking deer in the mountains or taking a once-in-a-lifetime trophy on safari in Africa, the difference between a clean kill and a wounded animal often comes down to one thing: how steady your rifle is when you pull the trigger.
The Viper-Flex® shooting sticks are designed to make that moment as controlled as possible. The unique two-point rifle support holds the rifle at two contact points instead of one, reducing side-to-side movement and giving you a significantly steadier platform than conventional shooting sticks. Single-hand operation. A handle on the side lets you deploy and hold it open with your forward hand — keeping your rifle ready at all times.
Shooting positions
The Viper-Flex® Styx can be used in four shooting positions: standing, kneeling, sitting and prone. Each suits a different hunting situation. Standing is the go-to position in driven hunting and on safari, where you need to be ready fast and shoot over vegetation. Kneeling gives you a lower profile and more stability — ideal for stalking situations where you need to drop below the skyline. Sitting and prone offer maximum stability and come into their own on longer shots across open terrain or mountain slopes.
To get the best from any position, adjust the height so the rifle sits naturally at your shoulder without bending or stretching. The wide front of the Viper-Flex® Styx covers a 20-metre arc at 100 metres without repositioning — so you can track a moving animal smoothly without losing your platform.
Stalking and driven hunting
In driven hunting, speed matters. Single-hand operation means you can be on target in seconds without taking your eyes off the animal. The rubberised legs keep noise to a minimum — essential in a quiet forest where any sound can push game away. On the stalk, the Viper-Flex® doubles as a steady rest for your binoculars while you wait and glass, and converts to full rifle support in seconds when the moment arrives.
Safari and long-range shooting
Professional hunters across Africa rely on Viper-Flex® as their go-to tool for accurate, ethical shots on game.
